Luis Melgar is a Vancouver based multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and band leader. After moving to the west coast in 2008, he studied music at Capilano University in the Jazz Studies program and quickly became a regular musician in the Vancouver scene. Playing piano, trombone, trumpet and vocals, Luis is able to adapt to many different musical scenarios and groups, having worked with many groups in town including Queer as Funk, a local funk and motown group. Luis now splits his time between working in Vancouver and traveling the world performing on cruise ships. Luis’ engaging personality and performing style creates a great energy for any type of musical situation whether it be bringing the energy for a fun dance night out, or creating just the right ambiance for a wedding reception.
