Not only is Jackie a seasoned musician and performer, she has been teaching voice and piano lessons for over 13 years. She is passionate about music and sharing music through teaching, and works with and coaches students of all ages. She places a high priority in creating a positive and supportive learning environment, all the while, motivating and challenging the student to grow and reach their goals. She has an interactive teaching style that results in stimulating and engaging lessons. Jackie believes that every student is unique, and tailors instruction to meet each individual’s specific goals and needs. Having had extensive musical training and experience, she is versatile with many genres of music including jazz, pop, R&B, funk, soul, blues, broadway, folk, rock & roll, and classical.

Jackie holds a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Capilano University and a Bachelors of Education in Music Education from the University of British Columbia. She was the 2018-2019 recipient of the Don Wright Scholarship in Vocal and Choral Music Education and Outstanding Practicum Award. On top of private music instruction, she teaches elementary classroom music in the Vancouver district. She has had the fortune of sharing the stage with many world-class musicians and also performs regularly with several local bands and in her own music projects.
